Have you ever been to a concert or recital and heard someone sing so beautiful and then right after have someone sound like fingernails on a chalkboard? What made the difference? Natural talent, well that does play a factor, but even people with a natural talent have to do one simple thing…Practice. Without practicing the skills you have learned, your talent becomes stagnant and you will sound like fingernails on a chalkboard to everyone. So how do you sing in the right tune of Social Media Marketing?
The first step is to have the desire to learn something new, search out the needed information and learn the tricks of the trade. There are a few ways that you can accomplish this. Find the people and companies that are making new steps and spearheading the development of Social Media Marketing. After you find them, you can read their material and attend their webinars, participate in them. You can learn so much just by listening. Seek and you shall find, learn the needed notes to sound beautiful in your marketing.
Take those notes (tactics) that you have learned and start applying them to your marketing plan. Decide what platforms you’re going to use within the media. Never be afraid to try something new, be creative and you become the spearhead rather than someone else. Sure it’s easy to say be creative, but try to remember what you enjoy and what you love to do, then integrate it into your plan. Try to think like you are five years old again.
Think you’re done? Think again. Once you have learned and practiced and applied, you need to do it again. Be ever learning; don’t stop trying to better yourself. If you ever tell yourself that you know everything, it is at that time when you know that you need to search and learn again. We will never know everything in the world of Social Media Marketing, it is ever changing. You can be expert, but that doesn’t mean you still have a lot to learn. So always have the attitude that you need to be ever learning.
Go forth and search and learn, practice and then go do it again. You can then go to your concert and belt out all the most beautiful notes and the people will stare and listen, hanging onto every note you send their way. Fill their ears with the things they want to hear, and then they will become your greatest fans and tell everyone else to go listen to you. Search, learn, and practice to gain the audience that you want to have in all your Social Media Marketing dreams.
