Combination 1: 3 headlines, 2 descriptions

This is an approximate preview. Real ads can look different, and Google may shorten text or show fewer lines.

How the preview works

Responsive search ads mix your headlines and descriptions, so one ad can appear many ways. Select Show another combination to see different orders and shorter versions.

Character counts follow Google's limits: 30 for headlines, 90 for descriptions, 15 for each display path, and 25 for your business name. Korean, Japanese, and Chinese characters count as two.

Write headlines that work in any order

Each headline needs to make sense on its own, because Google can show them in any order. Unless you pin them, any headline or description can fill any spot, and a third headline or second description won't always appear.

Use as many unique headlines as you can, and vary the message: try different benefits, offers, and calls to action. Avoid saying the same thing twice in slightly different words.

Common questions

Is my information saved?

No. Your ad stays in your browser, and it isn't sent to anyone.

Will my real ad look exactly like this?

Not always. This is an approximate preview, and it isn't made by or affiliated with Google. Layouts change, and Google may shorten text or show fewer lines depending on the device and search.

Does this check whether my ad will be approved?

No. It checks character counts, the required number of headlines and descriptions, and repeated text. Google reviews ads against its own policies when you submit them.

How many headlines and descriptions do I need?

A responsive search ad needs at least 3 headlines and 2 descriptions, and it can have up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions.
